With decades of experience at our disposal, we’ve become known across the UK for the quality, durability and stylishness of our bespoke electric gates here at North Valley Forge. Technically, every set of gates we supply is made bespoke, as we tailor their measurements to fit the space available on each customer’s property, right down to the millimetre. In addition to this though, we also offer a whole range of options to help you customise your gate even further, with custom scrollwork, intricate detailing, or a variety of other design features.
In fact, we’re able to customise our gates to almost any specification (within reason), as we design, spec, manufacture and supply everything in-house at our North West facilities. So, whatever vision you have in mind for your automatic gates, you can count on our team to help make it a reality.
What’s more, any gate you choose can be made electric, whether that’s a swing gate or a sliding gate, and we futureproof every set we make, with a hot-dip galvanisation process that leaves each gate impervious to rust – so you can be sure it’s built to last.
A quick overview of our process for bespoke electric gates
There are obviously elements of our process that vary between each gate we supply – largely because of the type of gate concerned, and the requirements of the customer in question – but by and large, our general process remains broadly the same. Here it is step-by-step.
Enquiry
The very first stage of any single job for us is, of course, the enquiry. There are a couple of ways to do this – typically, most people make enquiries through our website. We’ll then have a quick discussion to sort out a couple of quick arrangements, so that we can organise a site visit.
Site visit, pricing and deposit
After the initial enquiry, we’ll then visit your space (whether that’s your home or business premises) to measure up, and assess whether there will be any logistical obstacles that we’ll need to contend with later during the installation process. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask our team any early queries you might have yourself about the installation, or any necessary preparations for it.
Once we’ve returned from the site visit, we’ll get to work on providing you with a quote for what the work will involve, up to and including the installation. Then as soon as the initial deposit is paid, we can then proceed to the next step.
CAD Drawing and approval
Before we manufacture each gate, we first produce a set of Computer Aided Design drawings, so you can see exactly what your gate is going to look like. This is generally the stage at which you can specify additional customisation options – whether that’s in regards to the design and aesthetics of your gate, or additional features and technologies. We’ll amend the designs accordingly, and always make sure to get your explicit approval before we send them off for manufacture.
Manufacture of the gate
Each gate itself is manufactured at our specialised facilities, typically out of mild steel. It’s a popular choice of material for this type of application, mainly for its useful mix of affordability, durability, and longevity. Once each gate is manufactured, it’s then galvanised by dipping it into hot zinc, ultimately giving it rust-proof properties that enable it to really stand the test of time. After that, it’s powder coated, so you can choose to have it painted in whatever colour you want – giving you the freedom to match the aesthetics of your gate to your home.
The installation
Finally, our expert team will install the finished gate at your property, and test it thoroughly – so you can start immediately enjoying all its benefits of increased security, privacy, and convenience.
That’s everything you need to know in a nutshell! And if you’re interested in buying an electric gate for your own property, you’re in exactly the right place. We have decades of in-house expertise at our disposal here at North Valley Forge, and supply hundreds of gates every year for a huge range of settings and environments.
